Intro by Campsite...'We are situated at 9 km from the charming medieval town of Sarlat. Take the time to go and visit Sarlat. By day, by night (maybe our preference because of the special lighting system of Sarlat) on the market days.
Our campsite is situated along the river Dordogne and from the campsite itself you can sit and enjoy seeing canoes passing by. The river Dordogne is also used by wooden boats called Gabarres built a long time ago to transport the wine towards Bordeaux. The river Dordogne is since 2 years classified by the Unesco as a protected area, Biosphere Reserves. So it's in a good quality water that you can swim. The beaches along the river are situated at 200 m from the campsite le Capeyrou by a walking path. Camping le Capeyrou is situated in the village of Beynac et Cazenac.
It is quite rare, usually the campsites are situated outside the towns. From the campsite you can walk into the village of Beynac, it is 300m. You can go out for dinner in one of the different restaurants, there are also shops (clothes, toys and souvenirs) art shops or gallery, "epicerie fine", pharmacie... And in front of the campsite we have a bakery, butchery, grocery.... very handy!!!!!'
